Better Business Bureau serving Eastern North Carolina is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Torch Award. This award recognizes companies and charities that are committed to exceptional standards for ethical business practices and service to their customers, employees, suppliers and communities.
Customers may nominate potential winners, and companies and charities may also nominate themselves. Applications for the Torch Award will be accepted August 1, 2012 through November 30, 2012. Applications will be evaluated by an independent panel of prestigious judges from business communities in Eastern North Carolina. While BBB Accreditation is not a requirement, companies must have been in business for at least three years and have earned at least a ‘B’ rating with BBB to be considered. The award will be presented at BBB’s Annual Meeting in January 2013.
BBB is looking for businesses and charities that others will want to emulate. Candidates must show creativity in their ability to manage customer expectations, provide excellent customer service and resolve disputes. They must demonstrate the ways they inspire their workforce to adopt and communicate their ethics and further their mission.
