The Army Times reported in a recent article that defense officials extended the time frame for classes that qualify for payment under the current Military Spouse Career Advancement Account program.

Spouses who already have active MyCAA accounts can request financial assistance under the previous, more generous rules for classes that have a start date up to Jan. 31. That adds two weeks to the previous Jan. 15 limitation on class start dates.

The change was made in response to input from spouses and schools, said defense spokeswoman Air Force Lt. Col. April Cunningham. Spouses must submit requests for this assistance by Oct. 21.
