Bureau serving Eastern North Carolina (bbb.org) announces today that PROSHRED® Security (www.proshred.com) is sponsoring its
“Secure Your ID” Day event on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The company will provide
free document shredding from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the
Coastal Federal Credit Union headquarters on St. Albans Drive in
Raleigh.
PROSHRED® is a locally owned and
nationally operated network that offers on-site document destruction and
recycling services to businesses and consumers. This is the fifth consecutive
year the company has partnered with BBB for “Secure Your ID” Day.
“As identity
theft concerns continue to grow, shredding personal documents is a simple, yet
effective, way to reduce the risk of becoming a victim,” says Jim Klemes,
PROSHRED® general manager. “The ‘Secure Your ID’ Day events are a great
benefit to Triangle residents, and we are proud to once again partner with
BBB.”
Participants
are encouraged to bring up to three boxes or bags of documents that have been
removed from binders. In addition to free document shredding, BBB and other
partner organizations will provide tips and resources to help consumers protect
their identity.

BBB looks to
build upon the success of its October 2011 "Secure Your ID" Day, where nearly
400 participants turned out and more than 9 tons of documents were shredded.
