Better Business Bureau serving Eastern North Carolina (bbb.org)
announces today that Shred Ace (www.shrednc.com)
is sponsoring BBB's semi-annual “Secure Your ID” Day event on Saturday, Oct. 22,
2011. During the event, Shred Ace will provide free shredding to consumers from
8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Coastal Federal Credit Union
headquarters on St. Albans Drive in Raleigh.
“We are thrilled to partner with BBB for the ‘Secure Your ID’ Day
event,” says Matt Murley, Shred Ace co-owner. “This event parallels our company
goals to help consumers protect themselves by safely destroying sensitive
documents.”
Shred Ace is a North Carolina-based company that offers on-site
document and media destruction services in the Raleigh, Greensboro and Charlotte
areas. This is the first time the company is sponsoring the “Secure Your ID” Day
event.
“Identity theft remains a major issue for consumers,” says Toby
Barfield, president and CEO of BBB serving Eastern North Carolina. “In
supporting our initiative, Shred Ace will provide a key service to area
residents. We look forward to this new partnership.”
Participants are encouraged to bring up to three boxes or bags of
documents that have been removed from binders. In addition to free document
shredding, BBB and other partner organizations will provide tips and resources
to help consumers protect their identity. Additional event information is
