WHO? The Better Business Bureau Educational Foundation (BBBEF) is organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. BBBEF is affiliated with the Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina, Inc. and is chartered to serve thirty-three counties in eastern North Carolina.
WHY? The Foundation was organized for the purpose of complimenting the BBB's educational programs such as Consumer Tips, Product/Service Pamphlets, Seminars, Alerts, News Releases and a Speakers Bureau. The Foundation’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics was created to
publicly recognize businesses and charities that maintain a solid
commitment to conducting their business practices in an ethical manner.
