Entries for the 2013 Torch Awards will be accepted beginning in August, 2013.
BBB Torch Awards were created to showcase ethical companies and charities in eastern North Carolina that build trust, advertise honestly, tell the truth, remain transparent, and honor their promises. Spotlighting these companies and charities fits the BBB mission to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust.
All businesses and charities in eastern North Carolina are eligible to apply if they meet the following criteria:
- The company has been in business at least 3 years
- The company has earned at least a 'B' rating from BBB
- Government agencies are not eligible
- The company met their financial obligations
Applying for the Torch Award will help you spotlight your employees for the great things they do every day. If you are lucky enough to be named one of eastern North Carolina's most ethical companies or charities, the rewards include free press and publicity, a crystal award, special promotion on BBB's web site and much more.
The 2011 BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics was presented to National Pawn for exemplifying trustworthy business practices, ethical marketing and management practices, positive community relations and solid industry reputation.
